PER: Recreational Boat Skipper in Moraira

Obtaining the Recreational Boat Skipper qualification, commonly known as the “PER”, allows you to undertake coastal navigation on vessels up to 15 metres in length. This highly sought-after boating qualification does not require any previous licences or certifications. To obtain it, you must pass a multiple-choice theory exam and complete practical training at an officially approved nautical school.

This qualification is an ideal choice for undertaking a wide range of voyages as a boat skipper. In addition to allowing you to operate motorboats and sailing vessels, the PER also authorises you to operate jet skis once the required practical training has been completed.

Obtaining the Recreational Boat Skipper certificate is considered relatively straightforward. In approximately two months, it is possible to prepare the syllabus and complete the required practical training. Although the course content is not particularly difficult, dedicating sufficient time to studying or attending a preparatory course can be beneficial for those who wish to make the learning process more efficient. Once the practical training has been completed, no additional examinations are required.
